It combines the generous, wide toe box of the StraightFit Last that allows the big toe to assume a straight position with additional room at the forefoot with the ball of the foot area from the Wide Last. As such, it provides a good fit for people with a wider forefoot – or who want more space for their big toes. Despite the roomy toebox, the midfoot is still wrapped firmly to guarantee perfect support in more difficult terrain. A secure fit at the front of the foot and good overall stability is also ensured by the optimised ghilly lacing which runs through textile loops right down into the toe area. The HANWAG 2 Zone Lock with mechanical lace lock improves the fit at the heel. Unlike conventional clamping lace hooks, the mechanical lace lock remains fixed in place and cannot slip unless manually adjusted. The tried-and tested ‘Makra fit’ wraps around the foot to give outstanding power transfer. As a result, foot and shoe form a single unit from heel to toe.
